SLJ: Faded Glory

  1. Kia Ora Roseena,

Well done for completing another Summer Learning Journey activity, 'Faded Glory', and for telling us your ideas and strategies to help fundraise money for the Great Barrier Reef. I like how you've included the question within your second slide, but perhaps next time you could try writing what you've read about the subject in your own words— your response to the activity would have much more momentum this way!

I like your first idea of swimming out and checking up on the reefs, that's a great way to monitor how they're doing. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could donate that much money to help organisations to preserve the reefs? It should be taken more seriously by the Australian government however as they hold the power over what happens to the reef. It seems that mining in Australia is much more important to the government than this ancient reef.

I'm pleased to see you've done your own research to find the different ways the reef has been affected by our impact. What type of trash do you think enters our waters and how do you think that we can adequately dispose of this?
Can you please explain, for your readers, what 'HFCs' stands for? Remember, when you're abbreviating something, it's best to write out in full what this is and then follow it by putting the abbreviation in brackets like this: hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

I respect all of your ideas, thanks for providing your readers with so many!
Keep up the great work, Roseena :)

    Cheers,

    Jordan
